My DH's brother, Larry, lost his six month battle with lung cancer at 4 this morning. We also had to put our son's dog Blackjack to sleep this week. I was up most of the night and just felt overwhelmed with all this. Larry told us about his cancer on Christmas Eve. (he found out the afternoon before) All of a sudden this wonderful season that I love took on a different feel. Now to lose him so quickly and here I am at the start of Christmas in July. <br /><br />I was pretty down this morning and then found your wonderful post to remind me of the things that are important in life and that assure us of eternal life. I love the idea of a theme for Christmas and I am going to think about an appropriate one for us to start this year.
